Course Description

A professional development program led by an ETS-approved trainer in an interactive classroom setting, designed to provide you with the tools needed to help your students improve their English language proficiency by focusing on four key skills: Listening Comprehension, Reading Comprehension, Speaking, and Writing. The workshop will provide techniques and strategies using the integrated-skills approach to teaching and preparing students. A certificate will be provided to participants, thus an advance registration is required.

Course Aim

Provide tools to help students improve their English language skills:
- Support English language teachers with classroom activities that will motivate their students
- Explain and use sample holistic scoring rubrics for speaking and writing to score real test-taker responses
- Identify classroom learning objectives for each language skill for academic settings
- Explain and use sample holistic scoring rubrics for speaking and writing to score real test-taker responses
- Share ideas for classroom activities

Anticipated Outcomes

- Gain an in-depth understanding of the test
- Understand how the rubrics is utilized in the speaking and writing sections
- Learn how classroom learning objectives support students ‘success in an academic setting
